Wordle Reset Time by Country: When the New Puzzle Appears Around the World

Wordly team · Roghan Games · November 2, 2026

Wordle is one puzzle a day, but it is not one moment a day. The puzzle changes at midnight on your own device's clock, so players in Auckland see it many hours before players in New York. This page puts every major English-speaking country on one chart, so you can see who gets the new puzzle first and how that lines up with your own morning.

Reset time by country

The first rows see the new puzzle first. Southern-hemisphere clocks change in the opposite season, so the columns follow the northern calendar.

What this means in practice

  • The puzzle number is the same everywhere. Everyone who plays on the same calendar date gets the same word and number.
  • Answer pages follow one time zone. Most hint pages are written on US time, so for players in Oceania, Asia and Europe they can be a day behind. Match the number on the page with the number in your game.
  • Clock changes move the gaps. The US, the UK and Europe change clocks on different dates, and Australia and New Zealand change in the opposite season. For a few weeks a year, the gap between two countries is an hour different.
  • Your device decides. Your puzzle changes at midnight on your phone's clock. If the time zone or date is wrong, the puzzle can change early or late.

Wordle reset time: frequently asked questions

What time does Wordle reset?
At midnight on your device's clock, wherever you are. There is no single global reset time.
Which country gets the Wordle puzzle first?
Among the large English-speaking countries, New Zealand, followed by Australia. Small Pacific nations ahead of them see it earlier still.
Is the Wordle answer the same in every country?
Yes. The same calendar date gives the same word and puzzle number everywhere.
Why does the answer page I found look like yesterday's puzzle?
Most pages follow US dates. Compare the puzzle number on the page with your game before you reveal anything.
Does daylight saving time change the reset?
The puzzle still changes at your local midnight, but the UTC moment shifts by an hour when your country changes its clocks.
