What Time Does Wordle Reset in Australia? AEST, AEDT, ACST and AWST

Wordly team · Roghan Games · November 2, 2026

Wordle changes at midnight on your own device's clock, so in Australia the new puzzle appears at 12:00 AM local time. Because Australia is far ahead of Europe and the Americas, Australians are among the first in the world to see each day's puzzle: when it changes in Sydney, it is still early afternoon of the previous day in London.

Australia has several time zones and not every state changes its clocks, so the reset moment differs between Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Darwin and Perth. The table shows each one.

A note on the two seasons

Daylight saving in Australia runs in the southern summer, roughly from October to April. That is the opposite of Europe and North America, so the table lists the columns by the northern calendar. In November, for example, Sydney is on AEDT (UTC+11) and London is on GMT, and the gap is 11 hours. In July, Sydney is on AEST (UTC+10) and London is on BST, and the gap is 9 hours.

Why Australian players see answer pages late

  • Most answer sites follow US dates. When the new puzzle appears in Sydney, American sites are still on yesterday's article. Match the puzzle number before you reveal anything.
  • Social media gets there first. Because Australia and New Zealand play first, friends and spoilers on social media can be a day ahead of readers in the Americas.
  • Your streak follows your device. Changing time zone while travelling can skip a day or repeat one.

Playing more after the daily

If you finish the day's puzzle in the morning and want more, you do not have to wait until the next midnight: Wordly has unlimited puzzles in 4, 5, 6 and 7 letters, which is useful for people in the first time zones who run out of daily play early.

Where to find today's answer from Australia

Our answer page updates once a day, at about 3:20 AM UTC. That is 2:20 PM in Sydney and Melbourne in the southern summer (1:20 PM in winter), 1:20 PM in Brisbane and 11:20 AM in Perth. It is the afternoon in Australia, so the page can be several hours behind your midnight. Today's Wordle answer, hints and archive shows the puzzle number and date in the title, so compare them with your game before you reveal anything. If you finish and want more, you can play unlimited Wordle-style puzzles any time.
