What Time Does Wordle Reset in Canada? Every Time Zone Explained
Wordly team · Roghan Games · November 2, 2026
Canada spans six time zones, and Wordle changes at midnight on your own device's clock. That means a new puzzle at 12:00 AM wherever you are, but not at the same moment from coast to coast. Newfoundland sees it first, and British Columbia last, about four and a half hours later.
Most of Canada changes its clocks on the same dates as the United States: forward on the second Sunday in March and back on the first Sunday in November. So the gap between Canada and the US stays the same all year, unlike the UK or Australia.

Northern winter time (about November to March)
Northern summer time (about April to September)
Special cases in Canada
- Saskatchewan does not change its clocks. It stays on Central Standard Time all year, so its reset time is fixed while its neighbours move.
- Yukon and a few small areas (such as part of north-eastern British Columbia) also keep the same time all year.
- Quebec and Ontario have regions in two different zones, so check which zone your device is using.
Matching the puzzle number across Canada
The puzzle number depends only on your device's calendar date. Someone in Halifax and someone in Vancouver have the same puzzle number for the same date, even though Halifax gets it four hours earlier. If you are comparing results with friends across the country, the number is the easiest way to be sure you are looking at the same puzzle.
Tips for Canadian players
- Travelling east to west? Your puzzle can change on a flight. If you are in the air at midnight, the next puzzle appears when your device switches to the new time zone.
- Compare numbers before spoilers. Many answer pages use US dates. If you are in the Maritimes, you can be several hours ahead of a page written for Pacific time.
- Canadian spelling is mixed. The answers use American spelling, even though Canadians often write COLOUR or HONOUR. See our guide to British and American spelling in Wordle.
Where to find today's answer from Canada
Our answer page updates once a day, at about 3:20 AM UTC. That is 10:20 PM Eastern (11:20 PM during daylight saving time) the evening before, so the page can show tomorrow's puzzle late in the evening. The title carries the date and number, so you can tell. Today's Wordle answer, hints and archive shows the puzzle number and date in the title, so compare them with your game before you reveal anything.
