7 Letter Wordle: Free Unlimited Puzzles and How to Solve Them

Wordly team · Roghan Games · November 1, 2026

A 7 letter Wordle is the long-word challenge for players who want more than the classic puzzle. Each guess shows more letters, so you get more information per turn, but there are far more possible words and most of them repeat at least one letter. Wordly has 7-letter puzzles in unlimited mode and as a daily challenge, free and with no sign-up.

Why play a 7-letter Wordle-style game

  • The hardest size. The list of accepted guesses is the largest of the four lengths, and most answers repeat a letter.
  • More information per guess. Seven colored boxes show a lot at once, so strong guesses can cut the options sharply.
  • Rewards word-building. Long words are often built from a root plus an ending, such as -ING, -ED or -ERS, which you can learn to spot.
  • A good fit for slow, thoughtful play. It suits a longer sitting rather than a quick break.

Strategy for 7-letter words

  • Think in roots and endings. Try to confirm an ending early, then think of roots that fit before it.
  • Reuse yellow letters in new spots. With seven boxes, a yellow letter has many places to go, so move it every time instead of repeating its position.
  • Do not avoid repeated letters. Most answers repeat at least one letter, so once the pattern is mostly filled in, consider doubles such as E, S, R or N.
  • Pick a second guess that shares few letters with the first. Covering fourteen different letters in two guesses gives you the full skeleton of many words.

Good openers for this length, ranked by how many frequent letters they cover at once: NASTIER, ARSENIC, ERASING, SENATOR, TREASON. Our starting-word guide explains how the ranking works.

Example: solving a 7-letter word

Say the secret word is LANDING. A first guess with common letters might give this:

A, I, N and D are in the word, each one in a different spot. T, R and E are ruled out.
A, N, I, N and G are green. D is in the word, but not first. C is out.

Two guesses fix five letters and one clue about D. The only missing piece is the first letter, and L is the one that completes _ANDING.

A practice plan

  1. Pick one opener from the list above and use it for a week, so you learn to read its colors fast.
  2. Play three or four rounds a day in unlimited 7-letter mode, and keep the daily puzzle for your best attempt.
  3. After each loss, look at the answer and ask which clue you misread, not which word you should have known.
  4. When you win in three or four guesses most days, try the next length up.

7-letter Wordle: frequently asked questions

Is there a 7 letter Wordle with unlimited play?
Yes. Wordly has an unlimited 7-letter mode where each round picks a new word, plus a daily 7-letter puzzle that changes every day.
Is a 7 letter Wordle harder than a 5-letter one?
Most players find it harder: the word list is larger and most answers repeat a letter. You do get more clues per guess, so good guesses still pay off.
What is the best starting word for a 7 letter Wordle?
A word with seven different frequent letters, such as the openers listed in this article, which are ranked by how many common letters they cover.
Are the words common English words?
Yes. Wordly's answers are common words, so you will not be asked for obscure terms, although many accepted guesses are rarer.
